Riley Baker Interiors, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a residential interior design business based in Charleston, South Carolina. This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website and client relationships, how we use it, and your choices. It reflects our actual current practices as a small, local studio and will be updated as our business grows.

2. Information We Collect & How We Use It

We collect information you give us directly: your name, email, and message when you submit our contact form; your name and email if you subscribe to our newsletter; and, if you become a client, project details such as your address, budget, and photographs of your home, gathered during consultations and while we work together on your project.

Our website is hosted on Squarespace, which automatically collects standard technical data (IP address, browser/device type) as part of normal hosting and security — this is not third-party analytics or ad tracking, and we don't currently use either. The only cookies on our site are the basic functional ones Squarespace requires to operate.

We use this information to respond to inquiries, provide design services, send newsletter updates to subscribers, meet our legal/tax obligations, and — only with your permission — showcase completed projects in our portfolio or on social media. We do not sell your information or use it for third-party advertising.

3. Sharing Your Information

We don't sell personal information. We share it only with: Squarespace (our website host, contact form, and newsletter tool) and Google Workspace (our business email) — both of which maintain their own privacy policies; professionals directly involved in your project, with your knowledge; and government authorities where required by law. As we adopt new tools (e.g., client management or payment software), we'll update this section to name them.

4. Your Choices

You can unsubscribe from our newsletter anytime via the link in any email — every marketing email will include one. You can also ask us what information we hold about you, and request a correction or deletion, by contacting us below. South Carolina doesn't currently have a comprehensive privacy law, and we don't target clients in California or the EU, so CCPA and GDPR don't apply to us today — we honor these choices as good practice regardless. Our site isn't directed at children under 13.

5. Security & Retention

We rely on the security built into Squarespace and Google Workspace and take reasonable steps to protect your information, though no system is perfectly secure. If a breach involving unencrypted personal information occurs, we'll notify affected South Carolina residents as required by state law (S.C. Code Ann. § 39-1-90). We keep contact and newsletter information as long as needed for that purpose, and client/project records as long as reasonably necessary for our contractual, tax, and legal obligations.

6. Future Services & Changes

Looking ahead, we may also add online consultations or digital products for purchase. If we do, payments will be handled by a PCI-compliant processor and we won't store your card details ourselves — and we'll update this policy before that launches. We may also revise this policy periodically; the effective date above reflects the latest version.
